Print ViewYesterday someone made a comment to me that truly hurt my feelings. It made me feel like they were tired of me being ill and that I should be over it by now. It was a very unloving comment, and she and her friend sitting beside her laughed hilariously. I didn't say anything because I was so stunned by what she said, but I saw my husband was hurt as well by their uncaring attitude. And I had just prayed for them before their arrival to our home.
Why is it "friends" seem to have no time or interest in you when an illness like cancer befalls you? They give you the impression that you need to get over it while they go on with their lives talking about food, how bad their children are, what a wreck their finances are and how they hate their jobs.
Before we went to sleep last night, we prayed the Lord's blessings on them again and gave it all to Him trusting Him to take care of it.
Yesterday is done. Today is a new day. The birds are singing, the sun is shining, and God is good. And tomorrow. I like how Scarlett Ohara said it, "Tomorrow is another day!"
I’m sure that you did not ask for this sickness to come on you, so I wonder what rite people think they have to make a suggestion that might hurt your feelings. How inconsiderate? I know that if you could you would speak this away from you, but we were not given that power. I tell you what I can do; I can help by praying which I will do. It is my duty as a Christian. You are my sister in Christ. May God bless you during this time of trial.

I am sorry to hear that someone made an unkind comment especially since you are going through so much. As I have gone through my cancer ordeal my family and church family have been so kind in an overwhelming way. There was a comment or two made by a sister-in-law to me, however, that was very insensitive. I know that it can hurt. Remember no matter what the lord will never forsake you, and He always understands and cares about how you are feeling. I will be praying for you. I, too am sorry you should experience this pain from "friends?". I will pray for you the peace and joy that is in the Lord, and that He might send someone to you to counteract this inconsideration.

Gloria, your postings have revealed to us a woman of grace and faith. Yet again you show that generosity to these friends as you pray for them. Bless you.
