A Piece of the Puzzle

My bloodwork came back.  My platelets are up but my white cell count is down.  So I have to go in early tomorrow before my chemo appointment to get it checked again before I can have chemo.  I'm anxious to get this over with.  And my doctor decided to lower my dosage as a result of the hard knock against my body these past few weeks.  But I am ready.

I have received many cards of love and encouragement since this all started.  Family and friends tell me they are praying for me. How I cherish their prayers! The 5th grade class from the school I used to work for up in Geigertown, Pennsylvania sent me letters to encourage me.  Their hand drawn pictures warmed my heart.  They made me laugh.

Children are still living life.  This life goes on.  Even as I suffer through this cancer, children are still growing, learning, playing, loving.  I'm just another piece of this puzzle called life.

I pray my piece will be an important part of the picture -- that I will glorify and honor the Father, and maybe learn to help someone else travel through this journey and find Him.  And then maybe their life's painting will illustrate the Father's love in their life also.

  1. Yes, you will have the strength to make it through this with God's grace. God will give you the strength to be honoring to Him through the process even though you will have your down and doubting moments. God helped me through chemo and a mastectomy, and He will help you also. He is now helping me through radiation. I am the gal that wrote you before and gave you my e-mail address. We don't understand the "whys" of all these things, but we can rest in the Lord. The Lord is refining us to become more like Him by allowing all these things in our lives. The prayers and practical help of God's people certainly are a blessing aren't they? They sure have been for me! Keep the faith, and cling to the Lord's precious promises to always be with you!
